Let's Write A Gratitude Journal!

Weeew! I think it’s been quite a while since I wrote my last post in English (yeah, and I used to say the same thing about not writing in Indonesian).

Well, things have been doing great so far. I learn a new method to make a gratitude journal (I found it on The Secret’s website). It’s basically easy, yet more fun and exciting. I use a piece of paper and double it so I have a 4-sided paper. The first page is the GRATITUDE page. I write about the things I am grateful for on that day. I write 10 things (as suggested by the ‘creator’ of the journal), but I think you can write as many things as you like.

The second page is the ASK page. I write about the things I want to achieve or the goals I want to manifest. The ‘creator’ of the journal suggests that we write 4 things, but I always more than 4 things, hehe. Ah, 2 days ago I wrote ‘Spend more time with my husband’ and it really happened! On Saturday, my husband normally wakes up late (he’s a pillow lover), but yesterday he woke up earlier and accompanied me watching TV. I asked, “Do you want to watch a movie?” And he said, “Yes, sure,” which wasn’t quite normal since he normally prefers spending time with his laptop. And so, we watched a Korean drama for 3 or 4 hours, haha.

The third page is the BELIEVE page. I write about my feelings on that page. What and how will I feel when I finally get those things manifested? Of course, I write ‘standard’ things, like I am happy, I am more confident, I am grateful, etc. Basically, it all starts with ‘I’.

The last page is the RECEIVE page. I write the things I need to do to accomplish my goals. For example, I wrote ‘Work as a permanent English teacher’ on the ASK page. So, in order to accomplish that goal, I need to first finish my TEFL course (I still have 2 more courses to finish; Young Learners and Business English). Why do I want to finish those courses? I think it’s because the certificates will make my Resume more credential, hehe.

So, you can actually try to make this gratitude journal. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it guarantees you to get the things you desire. Just be GRATEFUL, then ASK, BELIEVE and you will finally RECEIVE them.

There’s always something to be grateful for. So, what are you grateful for today?
