Farewell, Gizmo

Remember my pet rabbit, Gizmo? Well, I lost him.

Gizmo apparently jumped out of the terrace into a neighbor’s terrace. Fortunately, the neighbor found him, but unfortunately, he threw him out to a nearby field. It happened at 6 p.m. and I searched for Gizmo around 6.30 p.m. I searched for him everywhere; in the terrace, in the laundry room, even inside the house, in case he sneaked in when the door opened.

I thought he was just hiding, so I decided to search for him back later. At 7.30 p.m. I re-searched for him, around the house. There was not a single inch I didn’t look at, just to find my Gizmo. Yet, still, he wasn’t found. My father-in-law even helped me searched for him, until he asked the neighbor if he happened to see a rabbit. Of course he said yes, but he also said that he had thrown him out.

Gosh! I cried suddenly, imagining my rabbit would never be found. Antonio then asked me to search for him at the field. My neighbor’s sister even helped us. We searched everywhere but we couldn’t find him. Antonio said that Gizmo wouldn’t run too far, because he might have got hurt a little after jumping from the first floor (my neighbor lives on the ground floor).

We went back home effortlessly. I was sad, of course, and still am. But I’ve been thinking, perhaps it’s the best for Gizmo. At least he was dumped at the field, where he can find lots of fresh grass (he loves that). I believe he can survive. He’s a smart rabbit, anyway.

Farewell, Gizmo. We’ll miss you. You've been a part of our small family. You’ll always be our pet rabbit…
