A Letter to Myself

[I decided to write a letter to myself because I want to show appreciation for myself]

Dear Me,

It’s the first time for me to write a letter for you – well, to myself. I don’t think I have lots of things to say; I just want you to know what I really feel about you, because you are me.

I used to think that you were weak and weird. I mean, come on, you are afraid of darkness, afraid of height (I know you won’t allow me to ride that scary rollercoaster again), and you even wake Antonio up when you have to pee at night. You’re 26, for God’s sake! You are also childish. Do you think it is normal for a 26-year-old woman to watch Spongebob Squarepants or Crayon Shin Chan every morning? And that weird, happy look you’re showing every time you see an ice cream vendor… that’s creepy, I think.

I have always known that you are different, yet you are different in a good way. Despite your craziness and weirdness, I know that you are strong. You are capable of achieving things that others may not. You are capable of being positive from time to time; it’s important because not many people are able to stay strong and fight for what they believe in. And yes, there’s one special behavior about you that makes you different from others; you’ve grown up to be a lot wiser than you used to be years ago.

Life has taught you to be strong, to keep believing in your dreams, and to never ever give up on them. Life has brought you to the level where you can see bad things from different prospective and make those bad things a lot better. You are able to see blessings in disguise.

Thus, in this very moment, I want to express my deepest gratitude for you. Thank you for having such amazing faith in yourself and in God that makes nothing able to crash you down. Thank you for the love you have and give for others. Thank you for those wonderful personalities you have that make you get along with people very well. But most of all, thank you for the way you see life, that life is always and forever beautiful for you.

Thank you, Me, for everything. I love you. I really do.

With lots of love,
