First Day at Work

Today is my first day at work. I didn’t start teaching today, but I had trainings which will last for 2 weeks. I went to work at 9.30 a.m. and it took me about 25 minutes to walk (I’m not a fast walker, hehehe). I arrived at 9.55 a.m. and guess what, I was the first one!

I met 4 other new teachers; 2 are Americans and 1 is German. I suppose I can call them “colleagues.” We did a short introduction to get to know each other before the director introduced us to the methodology used in the academy. I suppose I am the only teacher who has the most teaching experiences, but still, I need to work on my English AGAIN. My colleagues still need to complete some paper work, and thanks God, I have already had my paper work done.

After the training we decided to go to a nearby bar and chat. They are nice, though somehow I didn’t speak a lot. I was just being a listener. I guess I just didn’t know what to say. But well, it was our first meeting, anyway. Sooner or later we will be accustomed to each other and things will get better.

Tomorrow I’m having training, but this time I’m going to observe the director’s teaching classes to get the idea on how the class runs. The methodology is quite new for me. It’s different from the ones I normally use, so I need to learn a lot. However, I believe I will be familiar with it soon. I just need practices.

Well, it’s time for a chat with Antonio now, though he isn’t online yet. He’s probably having a shower, or eating, or… don’t know. I think I’ll just call him.
