Nastar and Kaastengel

I woke up too early this morning. Well, I wanted to pee so bad, actually. That's why I woke up, and for the records I hate when I have to wake up for wanting to pee when I can just have a nice cuddle with the pillow.

So I peed and tried to get back to sleep, but I couldn't. I decided to hit the kitchen and made these yummy nastar and kaastengel cookies. Nastar is a typical cookie in Indonesia, filled with pineapple jam - though nowadays it can be filled with any other fillings, such as cheese, blueberry, strawberry or chocolate jam. Kaastengel, on the other hand, is nastar's brother [hahaha]. It doesn't have any filling, but the dough is mixed with shredded cheese.

It was still difficult for me to make nastar, mostly when I had to fill the pineapple jam inside the dough and closed it. However, after few practices, I got to do it right. See for yourself ;)

Notes:
Nastar is the round cookie, while kaastengel is the rectangle one.
