You Are Responsible for Your Own Life

Sometimes in life we find situations that may not be in favor with what we desire. Things like your career, your relationship with your loved ones and with others, your financial situation, your education or your self esteem may influence your behavior and attitude towards life.

You hate your job that pays you less than what you deserve. You argue almost every day with your spouse who treats you unfairly. You wish you had the amount of money you need to buy a new dress. You have a bad grade at school. You aren't confident with yourself.

Yet, what do people normally do when they face such situation? Most of them complain, while others blame other people or situation to release their self guilt. Only few of them really work hard to make a change.

You are responsible for your own life. You cannot depend on others to make your life better or to make you happier.

Maya Angelou once said, "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude, but don't complain."

If you don't like your current situation, whether it's a bad job or lack of money, change it. When you're hungry, you can't just sit on the couch and wish that a nice-looking sandwich will fly into your mouth. You have to get up, walk to the kitchen and make the sandwich.

If you want to have a job, you can't just spend your days sitting on the sofa, going to parties every night or playing games for hours. You have to get up and start to look for a job. What happen if you can't find one? Now don't make an excuse. If you can't find a job, why don't you create one? What if you don't have the skills to work on something you love? Learn.

You can't expect miracles happen to you if you just wait for them. You have to be prepared to welcome them in your life.

Life may not as easy as what you think it is. Yet, if you really dedicate your time to focus on your goals and to work on them, you will find that life is pretty amazing. Stop saying, "I'm such an idiot! I am the way I am and I can't change it," or "My father is responsible for what is happening in my life now!"

Stop blaming yourself and others. If you don't like your present situation, you have to change it because you are the only one who has the power to change it. Others may only help, but it is YOU who decides what's next.
