What's New?

Hello, everyone!

I know, I know. It's been a long time since my last post. The thing is, I'm quite busy... with my laziness! Haha. Seriously, I am on my summer vacation and I don't feel like doing anything! I had planned so many things before summer; crafting, writing, learning new things... Then again, summer breeze has really knocked me down.

It was a thought which woke me up from my laziness. A thought of "If you want something, you have to work your ass off to make it happen." If I want to become a successful craft person, I have to craft. And if I want to become a writer, I have to write. It's as simple as that.

There is nothing new with my life lately, except the fact that I am currently working on a novel. I feel so blessed to write with a friend, who has published tons of short stories and a novel. It is kind of difficult, though, to tie the words together and create such an amazing story because I had not written for some time.

However, I learn a lot through this process and I enjoy it. A lot. I hope we can finish the novel soon and move on with the editing thing. The hardest part of publishing a novel is the editing with editors. But I'm ready.

I also happen to learn drawing. It's so exciting, I know! I mean, I have always loved drawing and painting, but I have no confidence in drawing. I can draw -- or copy a drawing -- but I really want to draw out of my imaginations.

I want to write and illustrate children's books, and that is why I learn how to illustrate. I watched Youtube videos on drawing lessons and watercolor tutorials and practice to draw everyday. Yes, I'm self-taught, but I believe I will perfect my drawing. Practice makes perfect, isn't it?

Tree painting. Watercolor (cheap one). Youtube tutorial.

Also, I learn macro photography. I don't know, but I am always interested in photography. I want to learn how to take great shots, and believe me, it isn't easy.

I went to the park one day and tried to take some pictures. Macro pictures. It cost me a lot! Seriously, it is kind of uneasy to take a macro picture with my Nikon Coolpix. I took lots of blurry pictures instead! I asked Antonio if I could buy a DSLR camera, but he said no. I guess I have to keep practising with my Nikon.

Learning photography means learning photo editing as well. I don't know how to Photoshop, so I am using Picmonkey instead. It's a lot of fun! Picmonkey has a bunch of editing tools and it's also easy to use. Have a try!
